A Forest of Creativity

Beginning in the fall of 2009, The Urban Forest Project planted banners by local artists and designers on light poles throughout Albuquerque, NM. The banners were hung in a series of high-traffic locations and travelled around the greater Albuquerque area until the summer of 2010.

Each banner used the form or metaphor for the tree to make a powerful visual statement about the environment. Together they created a forest of thoughtful images in the urban landscape and raised awareness of AlbuquerqueGreen, the city’s innovative environmental program.

The banners are currently being recycled into unique tote bags designed exclusively for the project by Whole Foods. Sales from the bags will benefit Tree New Mexico to support their tree planting efforts in Albuquerque and their mission to “keep New Mexico clean, beautiful and healthy.”

This project, conceived by Worldstudio, is being presented in collaboration with the City of Albuquerque and Tree New Mexico, with generous support from our sponsors.
